Participate in TEDxCalgary

Share your "Ideas worth spreading"

Visit the Lemelson Center for the Study of Invention and Innovation

TEDxCalgary is looking for 100 dynamic, inspired and engaged people who will come together on Thursday, April 29, 2010 to actively share their ideas with our speakers and one another.

We're looking for participants... everyone in the room will be there because they have a genuine passion for sharing ideas, and a commitment to building ways to move those ideas to reality.

How to apply

We're not charging an admission fee, so the 'price' to participate in our event will be you sharing an idea with us that you think is worth spreading.

It might be an idea that you've developed on your own, or an idea from another person (or organization) that you're passionate about seeing put into more widespread action. Either way, you need to be committed to showcasing your idea and sharing it with other participants at the event.

Consistent with our event theme, ideas submitted should be related in some way to the main event theme of "Humanity 3.0: Leadership the World Needs Now", and/or to one or more of our sub-themes of youth, elders, conflict and poverty.

How you share the idea is up to you. We ask that you submit your main idea through the form at the bottom of this page, but an idea can be shared in the form of text, video, pictures, a website, essay, poem, music or whatever format best captures the essence of your idea. Be creative, and have fun!

Sharing your ideas with our community

A big part of our commitment to holding a TEDx event in Calgary is making sure that your ideas have an impact on the way our community thinks, plans, and works. As part of your sharing an idea with us, we want our wider community — both online and around the city — to know about it.

Part of our application process asks you for permission to share your idea through our website and/or our online communities and social media channels. Whether you give permission will not determine your eligibility for participation in the event, but we hope that you do let us work with you to highlight the valuable ideas coming from people in our city and across the province on these important themes.

You've found what's called a "panel menu", a place for us to hide away a few resources and links that we use for team members, but don't want cluttering up the main site. If you're a core team member, come here to access tools and log in to the site.
