Speaking at TEDxCalgary
Our event will feature speakers from Calgary and across Alberta aligned with our event theme, both in 18-minute full session and 6-minute short session slots. TEDxCalgary is an opportunity for dynamic, compelling, and thoughtful speakers who want to spread amazing ideas and highlight actions that are helping to change our perspectives, our community, and our world.
How do I apply or nominate someone to speak?
Our open nominations process is now closed, and we thank everyone who submitted a nomination for their ideas. Your nominations generated some incredibly interesting speaker ideas, and we look forward to including a number of these individuals in our event.
I nominated a speaker. What happens now?
The response to our open nomination process was incredible, bringing in suggestions from across Calgary and around the province. Our programming committee is now hard at work meeting with the people you suggested.
Please note that all speaker nominations will be considered in the context of our main event theme. Because our speaker time is limited, our event programming committee will determine the speaker line-up based on factors such as:
- alignment to the theme (both the main theme the sub-themes);
- the potential reach and impact of the speaker's topic; and,
- the speaker's background and ability to meet the challenges of the short talk format.
We regret that we cannot accommodate every speaker that was suggested, either due to time constraints or the fit with the focus of our event theme.
When will the speaker line-up be released?
Initial announcements of the event speaker line-up will start being released in early March, both through this website and our various social media channels. So stay tuned!
