About TEDx

TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At TEDx events, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group.

TEDx events are independently organized by TED enthusiasts who have been granted a license to do so by TED. (The "x" in TEDx stands for "independently organized TED event.") TED provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual events are completely self-organized.

The TEDx program extends TED's mission of "ideas worth spreading" -- and individual TEDx events are organized in the same spirit.

About TEDxLive

TEDxLive is a new extension of the TEDx program, launched by TED in 2010. TEDxLive events are built around the live webcast of the TED Conference. Instead of featuring local speakers or pre-recorded TEDtalk video. In the case of TEDWomen, TEDxLive events enable TED enthusiasts all over the world to experience all 5 sessions of TEDWomen -- 25+ live speakers, performers, tech demos and more over the span of 2 days.

This event is not being organized by the TED conferences — this is an independently organized TED event.

This independent TEDx event is operated under license from TED.
